Arwa Al Neami was born in a King Khalid Military Airbase in Khamis, Saudi Arabia, a city in the south of the kingdom. Growing up in a military base has influenced Arwa’s upbringing greatly.

She took an interest in art at a very early stage and began to develop herself artistically. She then participated in Al Miftaha Fine Art Village in Abha. Due to the traditional and conservative upbringing in the south region, Arwa found it difficult to participate in local exhibition, being a female artist, which further influenced her and her practice.

In 2012, Arwa participate in Athr Gallery’s annual Young Saudi Artists exhibition. She participated in the Amood Noor exhibition in Jeddah [2013] and most recently in Words & Illuminations, an exhibition curated by The British Museum’s Venetia Porter, Agial Gallery’s Saleh Barakat, and Athr Gallery’s Mohammed Hafiz, in Madinah, Saudi Arabia [2014]
